Protect your people and business with Critical Illness Insurance

Critical Illness cover, also known as Trauma cover provides an agreed lump sum benefits that your employee can use in any way they like if they are diagnosed with a specified major illness or injury and live for any prescribed survival period.

The money can be used any way your employees like, and can be kept by the insured if they make a complete recovery from the defined illness. The aim is to ease any financial implications these conditions may have on your employee’s life.

Mandy, who worked at a manufacturing plant for textile products made an appointment with her GP as she was suffering from backpain, she thought it was most likely due to her employment role as she was required to stand as part of an assembly line for 30 hours a week on average. The GP referred her to a specialist and Mandy was unfortunately diagnosed with bowel cancer, and had to undergo an intensive course of chemotherapy.

The type of cancer Mandy had meant that under her Critical Illness cover she received a lump sum payment of $35,000. The money allowed Mandy and her husband to jointly take time off work to focus on her treatment and recovery.  Mandy now swears by Critical Illness cover, and has become a huge advocate at her place of employment for group insurance benefits, as she felt the true value of the covers in place.
